UFC on Fox 25 Odds

UFC on Fox 25 Odds For Saturday’s Fights – The UFC is back on Fox for the 25th time this coming Saturday as they bring a live event from New York’s Nassau Coliseum. This is the UFC’s first time inside the 18,000 Coliseum and comes on the heels of last week’s first boxing match at the venerable building in more than 30 years.

The UFC is bringing out Long Island’s own Chris Weidman for the main event as the former middleweight champion takes on the challenge of Kelvin Gastelum.

Weidman will go down in UFC history as the man who dispatched legendary middleweight champion Anderson Silva, His run as 185 pound champion included strong title defenses against Lyoto Machida, and Vitor Belfort as well as a rematch with Silva but Weidman lost his title to Luke Rockhold in December of 2015 and he has not won since, dropping two more since. For Weidman, avoiding a fourth UFC loss in a row is critical as very few fighters survive the ax with a losing streak of that magnitude.

Gastelum is an interesting prospect still and he can send a real message with a win over Weidman. Gastelum won the UFC reality show as a middleweight but he is smaller for the weight class and he took a series of fights in the 170 pound welterweight division. He struggled mightily with making the 170 pound welterweight limit, even failing to make the limit for several fights. Gastelum seemed to settle into the middleweight division with a first round KO of Vitor Belfort in Brazil back in March of this year, but that fight was oveturned to a No Contest after Gastelum failed a drug test for marijuana. Gastelum will enter the fight with height and  reach disadvantages but the books have him favored over the former champion Weidman.

Light heavyweights Patrick Cummins and Gian Villante clash on the main card in a fight between two men looking to build momentum. Villante is 5-5 in his UFC career, alternating wins and losses while Cummins is 5-3 overall in the UFC but just 1-2 in his last three fights.

Popular 145 pounders clash in the evening’s co-feature as Darren Elkins takes on Dennis Bermudez. This one has potential fight of the night written all over it as both men are rarely in fights that are not packed with action. Elkins has quietly put together a four fight winning streak that has him back moving up the rankings while Bermudez has gone 2-3 over the course of his last five fights. Nevertheless, Bermudez wil lenter the fight the betting favorite as he has been fighting stronger competition than Elkins. If Elkins pulls off the upset it will make this his second five fight winning streak in the UFC, a noteworthy accomplishment for anyone.
