US Open Betting:  Novak Djokovic and Serena Williams are favored to win the US Open which starts on Monday.  Each player is the clear choice as they are both listed at about even money.  The two challengers to Djokovic would appear to be Roger Federer and Andy Murray with Rafael Nadal not playing due to injury while the challengers to Serena should be Maria Sharpaova and Simona Halep.  Let’s look at the top contenders and the top seeds for both the men and the women and US Open predictions.

Men’s Top Seeds

1. Novak Djokovic
2. Roger Federer
3. Stanislas Wawrinka
4. David Ferrer
5. Milos Raonic
6. Tomas Berdych
7. Grigor Dimitrov
8. Andy Murray
9. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
10. Kei Nishikori
11. Ernests Gulbis
12. Richard Gasquet
13. John Isner
14. Marin Cilic
15. Fabio Fognini
16. Tommy Robredo

The US Open odds have Djokovic listed near even money with Federer the second choice at 2-1.  Murray is the only other player listed at single-digit odds.  Wawrinka and Ferrer are the 3rd and 4th seed but they are considered longshots in the betting.  Djokovic is the clear choice as he has made the US Open final in each of the past four years.

Women’s Top Seeds

  1. Serena Williams
  2. Simona Halep
  3. Petra Kvitova
  4. Agnieszka Radwanska
  5. Maria Sharapova
  6. Angelique Kerber
  7. Euguenie Bouchard
  8. Ana Ivanovic
  9. Jelena Jankovic
  10.  Caroline Wozniacki
  11.  Flavia Pennetta
  12.  Dominika Cibulkova
  13.  Sara Errani
  14.  Lucie Safarvoa
  15.  Carla Suarez Navarro
  16.  Victoria Azarenka

The top seed and top ranked women’s player is Serena Williams and she is the top choice to win the US Open. If she is motivated and healthy she should roll to the title but there are times where Serena doesn’t show up physically or mentally and flames out which is what happened at Wimbledon.

US Open Predictions

It is pretty boring and without much value to go with the two favorites but is there a serious challenger to Djokovic or Williams?  With Nadal out the only serious challenger to Djokovic would seem to be Federer but his best days are behind him while the challengers to Serena would be Halep and Sharapova but Halep is still inexperienced and Sharapova never beats Serena.  We’ll look for Djokovic and Williams to win the titles at the US Open.
