Vezenkov is invited for talks by Kings

According to many reports, the Sacramento Kings have asked Sasha Vezenkov to meet with the management at the NBA Las Vegas Summer League. Vezenkov won’t be on the field, but he will be interviewed and perhaps given a job by the Kings. He has been outspoken about the NBA team’s interest and has predicted that there will be negotiations during the offseason.

On Thursday, the NBA Las Vegas Summer League is set to begin. Vezenkov is now preparing for a game against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Monday in Sarajevo, which is a win-or-go-home contest for the senior national team of Bulgaria. The losing team will immediately risk being disqualified from the 2023 FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers.

His Olympiacos contract has an expiration date of 2024 but has NBA opt-out options for this summer and the next year. His NBA rights were just purchased by the Kings. The Brooklyn Nets originally picked the forward from Cyprus, but his rights were traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2021. From there, they were acquired by Sacramento, who then selected him in the 2022 NBA draft. This year, Vezenkov was also chosen for the All-EuroLeague First Team.
