Warriors at Clippers Prop Bets: Will Stephen Curry Score Over 30 Points?

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Clippers renew hostilities on Friday in what promises to be an entertaining game. Fortunately, the Clippers get to face their rivals at home where they are 14-7 with two wins in their last three home games. The streaking Warriors have been a very hot road team, having won their last four away from home and eight of their last nine.

This matchup has us wondering if Stephen Curry can score over 30 points. Despite sharing the spotlight with Kevin Durant and, to a lesser extent, Klay Thompson, Curry has managed to average a smidgen under 30 points per game this year which is second only to James Harden. He has eclipsed that total in four of his last six games, including his 48-point outburst against the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. So far in 2019, Curry is averaging 33.4 points per game and he’s tallying 29.4 points per game this season.

Curry missed the first meeting between these two teams this year, but he put a lump of coal into the Clippers’ stockings on December 23rd when he dropped 42 points on them in a narrow 129-127 Warriors victory. Last year, Curry scored 31 points in the first meeting between these two teams in Los Angeles and then he proceeded to rack up 45 in the next meeting. He ended up missing the next meeting, but he made up for that with a 44-point performance in a 134-127 victory over Los Angeles in the final matchup of the season.

It doesn’t seem to matter whether the games are played at home or on the road, Curry has a great track record for scoring a lot of points against the Clippers. In fact, Curry has a pretty good track record for piling up the points against division rivals. If Curry can launch a couple of three-pointers then he should easily be able to eclipse the 30-point plateau. He’s been playing well lately and he elevates his game against the Clippers and other division rivals so this one shouldn’t be any different even though it is on the road.

My Pick: Stephen Curry Over 30 Points
