Washington State Cougars vs. Colorado Buffaloes ATS Prediction

In the Cougars’ last contest, they topped the Nicholls Colonels, 89-72. The Cougars had a much better turnover percentage (9.3 vs. 21.3) and had a better free throw rate (0.157 vs. 0.121). Washington State rallied around Robert Franks, who was the game’s leading scorer with 31 points on 12-for-19 shooting.

The Buffaloes easily got past the Drake Bulldogs in their last outing, 100-71. The Buffaloes had a much better free throw rate (0.429 vs. 0.194) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (27.6 vs. 18.2). Namon Wright was the game’s top scorer with 25 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field.

Colorado does a great job at getting to the charity stripe. They rank 32nd in free throw attempt (FTA) rate (0.298), but Washington State is among the best in the nation at keeping opponents off the line (ranking 20th by allowing a FTA rate of 0.166). Moreover, the Cougars, who rank 277th in offensive rebounding percentage (25.9 percent), might have a tough time getting second chance points against the Buffaloes, who rank 35th in defensive rebounding percentage (76.2 percent).

After splitting two games last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the last matchup, the Cougars won 73-69. Washington State had a much better turnover percentage (8.8 vs. 18.4). Colorado, on the other hand, did a terrific job of making free throws (26-35; 74.3 percent).
