The Chicago White Sox have completed a trade with the Boston Red Sox, acquiring right-handed pitcher Jordan Hicks and pitching prospect David Sandlin. As part of the deal, the White Sox also receive cash considerations and two players to be named later. In return, Chicago sends pitcher Gage Ziehl and a player to be named later to Boston.

Hicks, known for his high-velocity fastball and experience in both starting and relief roles, joins the White Sox after spending recent seasons with the Red Sox. His addition provides Chicago with a versatile arm that could be used in multiple scenarios depending on the team’s needs during the upcoming season. Hicks has had a career marked by flashes of dominance, mixed with challenges related to injuries and consistency. He will be looking for a fresh start in the White Sox organization.

David Sandlin, a young right-handed pitching prospect, adds depth to the White Sox’s farm system. While details about Sandlin’s immediate assignment are not yet known, he represents a longer-term asset with developmental upside. His involvement in the deal suggests Chicago sees potential in shaping his skills within their system.

Gage Ziehl, headed to Boston, is a right-handed pitching prospect with a developing profile. He emerged as a notable arm in the White Sox pipeline and now will continue his career with the Red Sox organization. The identity of the player to be named later on each side of the transaction has not yet been disclosed, a common aspect of MLB trades that allows teams flexibility in finalizing details.

This multi-player trade reflects the ongoing roster adjustments both teams are making during the offseason. For the White Sox, the move signals a commitment to strengthening both their major league bullpen and long-term pitching development, while the Red Sox add an emerging arm in Ziehl and look to finalize the remaining pieces of the deal.
