Podcast: Who Is The Greatest Boxer of All Time?

With the Floyd Mayweather, Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao fight just a month away, we return to the age old question in the world of boxing: Who was the greatest of all-time?

In this latest hour-plus podcast, we’re joined by Keith Palmer and Mike Davis to answer boxing’s eternal question.  The idea is to lay the groundwork for further discussion by narrowing down the field to light heavyweights and heavyweights and eight men from the lighter weight classes.  Active fighters are ruled out, so sorry to all you Floyd Mayweather Jr, Manny Pacquiao and Wladimir Klitschko heads.  The list is as eclectic and diverse as it  goes from Joe Louis to Muhammad Ali to Rocky Marciano.  At lightweight, a potential four way round robin between Benny Leonard, Joe Gans, Roberto Duran and Henry Armstrong is pitched.

All in all, our expert panel discusses more than 20 of the greatest fighters of all time, and next week we promise to bring in a special guest to help get the list down to eight big guys and eight little guys.

“Are we going to decide who the greatest fighter of all time was?” asked host Miguel Iturrate.  “Probably not definitively, but it is a discussion that needs to be ongoing and needs to be continually refreshed for the good fo the sport”.  A great discussion for the hardcore fan or just for people who want to get to know more about the history of “The Sweet Science”.  This is the first of our Talk ‘n’ Shoot classics segments.

So enjoy the Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast’s first edition of the Classic Boxing Hour.
