World Cup Odds – Low Scoring Game Expected on Saturday between Greece and Colombia

Greece vs Colombia on Saturday

World Cup Odds:  Colombia is favored against Greece on Saturday in what could be a low scoring match.  This game that can be seen on ABC has Colombia listed as the favorite with the total at 2 under.  Colombia is the favorite to win Group C but this may not be an easy opener against a very defensive minded Greek club.  Here is a look at the matchup and World Cup predictions.

Colombia -120, Greece +415, Draw +230, total 2 under

Greece

Greece made their first World Cup appearance 20 years ago and it didn’t go well as they lost all three matches. They missed out on the next three World Cups but they were back in 2010 and they won their first-ever match in World Cup play.  They did lose their other two and did not make it out of the group stage.  They have high hopes of making it to the round of 16 this time around.  The Greek club is putting everything into this first match against Colombia. “If we win the first game, we’ve seen [before] that with 4 points [gained in the first round] we can qualify for the next round.” Defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos said, “So, as you can understand, the match with Colombia is the key for our course at the World Cup,”

Greece doesn’t score many goals so they need Giorgos Karagounis and Kostas Mitroglou to produce some kind of offense.

Colombia

The Colombia team will be without Radamel Falcao but they still have James Rodriguez and Mario Yepes.  Colombia is getting a lot of action in World Cup odds but this team has only made it out of the group stage once in their history. They will also be without Aldo Leao Ramirez who is injured.  The team replaced him with Carlos Carbonero.

World Cup Predictions

Both of these teams play really good defense so there may not be many scoring chances.  Colombia could end up missing Falcao a lot more than they think. I will go under the total in this game on Saturday.
