Wrestling News: Emma and Young Bucks Injured, Rollins Return

Emma Injured at WWE Live Event
Just as the plague of injuries seemed to slow down, another injury pops up. At a WWE Live Event (house show) in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Emma injured her back when she teamed up with Lana to take on Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. WWE.com has confirmed that after testing, Emma has suffered from a back injury and will need to undergo surgery.

As posted on WWE.com:

“Emma has a ruptured disc that will require her to have surgery,” explained WWE ringside physician Dr. Chris Robinson. “She came to us in a great deal of pain, which seemed to be increasing. She was then given an M.R.I., which revealed that further action would need to be taken. Unfortunately, the Superstar’s estimated recovery time cannot be determined until after her procedure is complete.”

It is unfortunate that Emma has suffered an injury in what seemed to be a push for her career. Before the injury, she was most recently feuding with Becky Lynch. On Monday Night Raw last week, Emma’s NXT ally Dana Brooke made her main roster debut, and will assumedly take Emma’s place in the feud going forward. Surgeries can put Superstars on the shelf for a long time, and we hope that Emma has a speedy recovery.

The Young Bucks Both Suffer Injuries in the Same Match
Matt and Nick Jackson, more commonly known as the Young Bucks, are one of the hottest tag teams in professional wrestling. They have great in-ring chemistry, and it even includes injuries. While competing last week, Matt Jackson suffered a hand injury, while his brother Nick injured his ribs.

Matt Jackson had the following to say on Facebook:

Sorry NJPW fans, we unfortunately will not be competing in this years Best of Super Junior Tournament in Japan, as previously announced. Both of us suffered injuries while competing in Toronto last week. I (Matt) suffered a hand injury, & Nick suffered a rib injury (in the same match!) Luckily, the injuries are fairly minor & we should both be back to competing in the next 4-6 weeks. Thank you for the continued support! We have the greatest fans in the world. We’ll see you soon.

With all of the injuries surrounding professional wrestling today, it is relatively good news to hear that they will only be out of action for a few weeks. Either way, injuries are never a good thing, so we hope that it is even shorter than expected.

Seth Rollins Return Date Revealed
Way back in November 2015, Seth Rollins joined the massive “injured” list at a WWE Live Event in Germany when he injured his knee trying to deliver a sunset flip powerbomb to Kane. Rollins was expected to return anywhere from six to nine months after the injury, and it seems to be the former.

According to PW Insider, Seth Rollins is set to return on the June 6 edition of Monday Night Raw. Rollins has been training in the Performance Center recently, and while out of action, has been filming a movie. If this bodes true, this means Rollins would return one week after John Cena, who is set to return on Memorial Day.

It is great news (especially after the injuries noted above) that Rollins is set to make a return. Rollins was the second champion (along with Daniel Bryan) in 2015 to forcibly vacate his championship due to injury. Now that he will return soon, Rollins can focus on getting back what he never lost: the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Stephanie McMahon to Write A Memoir
Since Vince J. McMahon (Vince K. McMahon’s father), the McMahon family has been synonymous with professional wrestling/sports entertainment. Along with both Vince K. McMahon and his father, Shane and Stephanie McMahon grew up in the business at a time where wrestling reached its peak popularity. Earlier today on Twitter (as seen below), Stephanie McMahon announced that she is currently writing a memoir regarding her time growing up in WWE.

WWE autobiographies and memoirs tend to sell pretty well, as seen with Mick Foley’s pair of books released during the Attitude Era. Regan Arts will be publishing McMahon’s memoir, and have described it as “an unprecedented look inside WWE’s incredible history and remarkably contemporary approach to media.” According to Simon & Schuster, the memoir will hit the shelves on September 27, 2016.
