WWE Power Rankings, Week of 6/20/17

Welcome back to the weekly Get More Sports WWE Power Rankings, where we rank the top 25 WWE Superstars based on their impact, performance, and momentum. This past week saw a huge episode of Monday Night Raw, action-packed episodes of 205 Live and NXT, and SmackDown Live filled with controversy.

  1. Samoa Joe (+3)
Not a lot of people can score a submission victory over Roman Reigns, but Samoa Joe did just that this week on Raw. Thanks to a distraction from Braun Strowman, Joe locked in the Coquina Clutch and cotinued to build momentum towards Great Balls of Fire.
  2. Big Cass (-)
For weeks, Enzo Amore and Big Cass were being attacked from behind and they could not figure out who did it. It turned out that Big Cass was attacking Amore all along while making it look like he was getting attacked also. His emotional turn on ‘Zo capped off a big episode of Raw.
  3. Carmella (+0)
Even though Carmella got her Money in the Bank briefcase wrongfully relinquished, she cut the best promo of her career this week on SmackDown Live. If she keeps cutting promos like the one that opened SmackDown this week, she will be a top heel for the company in no time.
  4. The New Day (+1)
After defeating the Usos by count-out at Money in the Bank, The New Day continued their momentum on SmackDown. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston prevented the Usos from leaving again, leading to Big E picking up a singles victory over Jimmy Uso.
  5. Sheamus & Cesaro (+1)
The Raw Tag Team Champions continue to pile on wins after capturing the titles a couple weeks ago. This week, they defeated the Titus Brand (Titus O’Neil and Apollo Crews).
  6. Jinder Mahal (-5)
In the main event of SmackDown, Jinder Mahal defeated former Wyatt Family member Luke Harper. After continuing his impressive win streak, Mahal escaped an attack from Randy Orton.
  7. Shinsuke Nakamura (+3)
The King of Strong Style got back on track this week, picking up yet another win over Dolph Ziggler. Their match this week was arguably better than their first encounter at Backlash.
  8. Braun Strowman (-)
About a month ago, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman had a huge brawl leading to Strowman getting surgery on his elbow. Strowman was supposed to be out of action for about six months, but he was ready to return months sooner than expected. Strowman attacked Reigns and challenged him to an Ambulance Match.
  9. Elias Samson (+2)
The Drifter was about to play a song for the WWE Universe when he had to stop and tune his guitar. While he was tuning, he was interrupted by Finn Balor, who had a match scheduled. Later in the night, Elias Samson attacked Balor for interrupting his performance.
  10. Dean Ambrose (-2)
For the third week in a row, Dean Ambrose has managed to interfere with the relationship between The Miz and Maryse. Ambrose interrupted Miz’s apology to Maryse, causing Miz to accidentally spill champagne on his wife.
  11. The Miz (-)
However, the Miz got the last laugh. He convinced Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas to be in his entourage and they attacked Ambrose after he interfered with MizTV.
  12. Akira Tozawa (+4)
The Titus Brand has been pursuing Akira Tozawa for weeks, and it makes sense as to why. For the second time in two weeks, Tozawa cleanly defeated a former Cruiserweight Champion in TJP.
  13. Finn Balor (-)
In a week full of big returns, Finn Balor came back to in-ring action this week on Raw. Balor got jumped before his match against Bo Dallas, but he was able to turn things around and pick up the victory.
  14. Titus O’Neil (-)
Regardless of his win-loss record, Titus O’Neil has been a prominent feature of Raw and 205 Live ever since starting the Titus Brand. With Apollo Crews finding success last week and Akira Tozawa almost never losing, the Titus Brand is seeing its stock value increase every week.
  15. Aleister Black (-)
NXT’s main event featured a huge clash between Aleister Black and Kassius Ohno. The match was as down the middle as it could have possibly been, and a split second decision led to Black picking up the victory.
  16. Kassius Ohno (-)
That being said, the match did a great job of putting both men over. Although Kassius Ohno had a high-profile championship match against Bobby Roode a couple months ago, this was his best match since returning to NXT.
  17. Kevin Owens (-)
The Face of America issued an open challenge to a local wrestler from Dayton, Ohio expecting an easy win. Instead, he defended his United States Championship against American Alpha’s Chad Gable, but he still came out the champ.
  18. Chad Gable (-)
Kevin Owens’ Face of America Open Challenge did wonders for American Alpha. Chad Gable was acting like a lovable goof in the promo segment before the match, and he wowed the fans in attendance by using his Olympic wrestling background to throw Owens all over the ring.
  19. Ember Moon (-)
Yet another Superstar to return this week, Ember Moon competed for the first time since the NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender’s Battle Royal (that’s a mouthful) several weeks ago. Moon aimed to shut Peyton Royce up, and she did just that, along with Billie Kay.
  20. The Hardy Boyz (-)
In what would be considered a dream match, The Hardy Boyz defeated Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson on Raw to try and get back in the Raw Tag Team title picture.
  21. Sonya Deville (-)
Deville’s return had been hyped for a couple weeks, and she had a decent showing against Rachel Evers (daughter of Paul Ellering). Deville’s MMA background adds a nice variety to WWE’s women’s wrestling.
  22. Mustafa Ali (-)
After constantly losing to Drew Gulak, Mustafa Ali finally picked up a win of Gulak. Using a roll-up, Ali defeated the mat technician at his own game.
  23. Neville (-)
In a battle between current and former Cruiserweight Champions, Neville defeated Rich Swann in the main event of 205 Live. The King of the Cruiserweights used this victory to send a message to Akira Tozawa.
  24. Tony Nese (-)
To conclude the trilogy of 205 Live victories on the Power Rankings, Tony Nese faked an injury so he could steal a win over Jack Gallagher this week.
  25. Nia Jax (-)
While Nia Jax’s match against Sasha Banks ended because of a brawl with the entire women’s division, she did technically pick up the disqualification victory.
  • New to the Rankings This Week: Nia Jax, Tony Nese, Neville, Mustafa Ali, Sonya Deville, The Hardy Boyz, Ember Moon, Chad Gable, Kassius Ohno, Aleister Black, Braun Strowman, Titus O’Neil, Finn Balor, The Miz, Big Cass
