WWE SummerSlam First Odds For August 21

WWE SummerSlam First Odds

WWE SummerSlam First Odds – Sunday, August 21st sees the WWE at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center with their biggest summer PPV, SummerSlam 2016. This is the first pay-per-view after the WWE’s brand split between television shows RAW and SMACKDOWN, and the line-up is still being finalized. Nevertheless, several title fights are already announced.

The only non-title fight at the books right now is the main event as Brock Lesnar faces off against Randy Orton. Both men are returning from long layoffs, as Lesnar was away from the WWE while he fought an MMA fight for the UFC. In that fight, Lesnar defeated veteran slugger Mark Hunt, but the win was tainted by a positive PED test. that did not hamper the WWE from welcoming Lesnar and his drawing power back to the main roster. In Orton, he faces one of the company’s biggest draws over the last ten years, and it is surprising that this is a fresh match-up.

The RAW brand created a new title for the show, and the new “Univeral” belt will be going home with the winner of Finn Balor taking on Seth Rollins. Balor is a new call-up from the NXT roster, and he is looking like a fighter who is going to play a huge part in the WWE’s future. Balor came out and won a fatal four way and then pinned Roman Reigns to earn this shot against the veteran “architect.” Rollins is the company’s top worker now that he is back from injury, and it is unlikely that the commitment to Balor extends itself to a clean win over Rollins in his first big PPV. A win by Balor would be practically unprecedented in the WWE.

The WWE heavyweight title is in play between Dean Ambrose, the champion, and Dolph Ziggler, the company’s best worker when it comes to putting a fighter over. This is about padding Ambrose’ record a bit as it is unlikely we are going to be looking at another Ziggler title reign at this point in time.

You have to hand it to Charlotte, who put the womens division on the map and into the main event spotlight with her recent title reign. Sasha Banks recently took the belt and could be the talent to take the belt and the women’s divisions to the next level.
