WWE Weekly Preview, 10.9.17-10.15.17

WWE always produces a ton of content every week, and this week is no different. On the heels of Hell in a Cell, SmackDown Live looks forward to Survivor Series. Monday Night Raw continues to build towards TLC with a possible Shield reunion, and NXT build the card for NXT TakeOver: War Games.

Monday Night Raw (10.9.17)
Last week, WWE was really teasing the possibility of a Shield reunion. The Miz has been using the Miztourage and The Bar to mock everything the Shield used to do to get inside the head of Roman Reigns. To end Raw last week, Reigns was in the locker room with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and they all nodded to each other silently, continuing the tease. There will be another edition of MizTV this week, but the guests this time are The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro).

Nothing else has been confirmed for tonight’s episode, but WWE.com is teasing some story development. First, Bray Wyatt has been talking more and more about Sister Abigail and there is a good chance that she might actually appear over the next few weeks. Perhaps this week can announce a match at TLC between him and Finn Balor because they can’t seem to stay away from each other.

Also, the reemerged Mickie James looks to continue her push leading up to her Raw Women’s Championship match at TLC, making her the only woman to challenge for the Raw, SmackDown, WWE, and NXT Women’s Championships, as well as the Divas Championship. James defeated Nia Jax by disqualification last week, but she seemed really close to getting a legitimate victory before Alexa Bliss interfered.

Lastly, the Cruiserweight Division has actually gotten some life on Raw recently. Last week, it was announced that Kalisto was the newest member of the Cruiserweight Division and he immediately took out Enzo Amore, followed by a victory over Ariya Davairi in his 205 Live debut. It seems obvious that the former United States Champion is going to challenge for the Cruiserweight Championship, but nothing has been made official yet.

SmackDown Live (10.10.17)
Hell in a Cell was just last night and SmackDown Live this week is sure to be something that a lot of the WWE Universe tunes in to. To close the Pay-Per-View, Shane McMahon jumped off of the Cell, looking to crush Kevin Owens through a table. Instead, Sami Zayn (Owens’ former best friend and current archrival) pulled Owens off of the table to save him, then dragged him onto McMahon to end the match. The whole world is wondering why Zayn would help a man who powerbombed him onto the apron two weeks ago, but we are sure to find out.

On Talking Smack, AJ Styles announced that he was going to get his United States Championship rematch for this Tuesday after Baron Corbin pinned Tye Dillinger to become the new titleholder. In other title action, there are three championships that need new #1 Contenders: The SmackDown Tag Team Championships, the SmackDown Women’s Championship, and the WWE Championship.

Now that the New Day is no longer allowed to challenge The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, will they finally start pursuing singles championships? Who will be the next woman to challenge Natalya for the SmackDown Women’s Championship after she retained over Charlotte last night? Also, what tag team will step up to the plate and enter the Uso penitentiary?

One final question before moving onto the next show: What is next for Shinsuke Nakamura?

205 Live (10.10.17)
To no surprise, nothing is advertised for 205 Live. Expect more development in the Drew Gulak/Akira Tozawa, Enzo Amore/Kalisto, and Jack Gallagher/Cedric Alexander feuds.

WWE NXT (10.11.17)
On the other hand, NXT has a decent amount advertised. Liv Morgan will face Nikki Cross and Peyton Royce to determine the second of four women battling at NXT TakeOver: War Games for the vacated NXT Women’s Championship against Kairi Sane and two other unknown competitors. Also, Johnny Gargano will get a rematch from NXt TakeOver: Brooklyn III when he faces Andrade “Cien” Almas.
