10 Best Bets To Win 2018 Tshwane Open

George Coetzee

The Tshwane Open will be considered a secondary event this week with the majority of the focus from the golf world on this week’s World Golf Championship – Mexico Championship. However, there is an excellent opportunity to make some money betting on this week’s European Tour event with some intriguing markets to consider. Here is a look at some of the interesting options on the board courtesy of BetDSI Sportsbook for this week’s Tshwane Open.

2013: Dawie van der Walt -21

George Coetzee +1200

Coetzee grew up playing in Pretoria and his course knowledge has been on display at this tournament over the years including win he won this event back in 2015. While he has struggled with consistency at times overall, Coetzee has shown the necessary pedigree to win this tournament and it’s no surprise that he is the sports betting favorite again this time around. At decent odds, Coetzee will be a popular betting pick for the Tshwane Open.

Alexander Bjork +1800

Bjork has all of the tools to win this week’s Tshwane Open but there is definitely some risk considering he has never won at this level before. However, the risk might be negated by the fact that this is such a weak field. Bjork is definitely an intriguing pick this week.

Julian Suri +2000

Suri is another interesting option because he is priced at the top of a relatively weak field. While he undoubtedly has the tools to win, it’s hard to take a chance on a golfer like Suri when the value isn’t exactly as good as it likely should be to bet on him. Suri will get some support but you might be better off looking at another option this week.

Marcus Kinhult +2500

Kinhult is available at slightly better odds than Suri but the risks are similar. He doesn’t exactly have the most impressive pedigree and the fact that he is listed at +2500 odds makes it difficult to throw too much support behind him against a strong home contingent in South Africa.

Erik van Rooyen +2800

It might be best to wait another week before throwing some support behind van Rooyen as he attempts to bounce back from a nightmare weekend in Qatar. Considering the overall outlook for the top favorites on the board it might be best to stick with some of the better value options on the board.

Jacques Blaauw +4000

Listed just beyond the sports betting favorites for this event, Blaauw could see some support this week at decent betting odds. With such a weak field making their way to South Africa for this week’s tournament, Blaauw is just as capable as any of the betting favorites to pull out the victory this week.

Scott Jamieson +5000

Jamieson was the runner-up in the Nedback Golf Challenge in his last trip to South Africa and a strong case can be made for him this week in a relatively weak field. Jamieson led after 36 and 54 holes here a year ago before a disastrous final round led to him plummeting down the leaderboard. At +5000 odds to win this event outright, Jamieson is a decent value pick for this week’s Tshwane Open.

Hennie Otto +7500

Otto grew up less than an hour away from the host course for this event and he knows what it will take to win this week. A strong option in the home contingent, Otto might be worth taking a chance on at this week’s Tshwane Open.

Darren Fichardt +8500

There are plenty of reasons to support Fichardt this week including his five European Tour wins and the fact that he has finished as the runner-up at this course three times already in the past. While he has struggled overall of late, he knows what it takes to win this week and should have no problem bouncing back with a strong performance in South Africa.

Zander Lombard +12000

Speaking of value options, Lombard is among the best of them at +12000 odds to win this week’s Tshwane Open. Lombard’s home golf course is just a couple of miles away from the Pretoria Country Club where this event will be played and he knows this venue well. The 23-year-old is coming off a strong finish in Qatar and he has all of the tools to make a run in South Africa this week. At such long odds, Lombard might actually be the best betting option in this week’s field.
