205 Live Recap: The Enzo Amore Show

Photo from WWE.com

This past Sunday at No Mercy, Enzo Amore stole the Cruiserweight Championship from Neville (he won with a low blow). Whether the Cruiserweight Division likes it or not, Amore is the star of the division and the face of 205 Live for as long as he has the belt. Tonight’s episode of 205 Live, which does feature a few matches, is the first episode of the Enzo Amore Era.

Opening Segment
On Monday Night Raw this week, Enzo Amore bragged about his Cruiserweight Championship victory over Neville at No Mercy at his “Certified G Championship Celebration,” which was interrupted in protest by the entire division. Amore got a clause signed by Raw General Manager Kurt Angle that stated that if any member of the Cruiserweight Division attacks him, they will forfeit their opportunity at a future title match while Muscles Marinara is still the champion.

Neville decided to forfeit his opportunity by destroying Amore before Raw went off the air. After Raw went off the air, however, Braun Strowman decided to pick up the pieces before the entire Cruiserweight Division hit their finishers on the champion. Tonight, Enzo Amore is here to brag about how he can put his title on ice now that he has no challengers.

Akira Tozawa vs. Tony Nese
This is yet another episode of 205 Live where Akira Tozawa is not accompanied to the ring by Titus O’Neil. Tozawa and O’Neil seemed inseparable during his pursuit of the Cruiserweight Championship and after Tozawa lost the belt back to Neville, they haven’t been seen together since. His current adversary is Drew Gulak, who joins to commentary to continue pushing his vision of a better future for 205 Live.

It takes several attempts, but Akira Tozawa finally manages to hit Tony Nese with the Senton Bomb, picking up the victory with the same move that won him the Cruiserweight Championship. Winner: Akira Tozawa

After the match, Drew Gulak enters the ring to reveal what proposals Tozawa is in violation of. First, Tozawa is in violation of Proposal #3, but he is also in violation of Proposal #7, which is just being announced for the first time. Proposal #7 calls for “no celebrating,” which Gulak calls “mindless,” turning the WWE Universe into sheep. After Gulak continues to make fun of Tozawa and his chant, Tozawa nails him with an enzuigiri, sending Gulak out of the ring.

Backstage Segment
While Enzo Amore is hobbling backstage, he is approached by Ariya Daivari. Daivari claims that attacking Amore last night was part of “mob mentality,” and he convinces the Cruiserweight Champion that Neville was the mastermind behind the assault. Daivari wants to be Amore’s friend and ally, but Amore wants him to prove himself. For Daivari’s match later tonight with Neville, Amore will be in his corner to see if Daivari can do the job.

TJP vs. Lince Dorado
Last week, Rich Swann was scheduled to face Lince Dorado when it turned out that TJP had attacked Dorado before he could get to the entrance ramp. When Swann was figuring out what was going on, TJP attacked him from behind too and even ripped a dread from his head. Swann didn’t want to compete with TJP anymore to ruin their friendship, but TJP was too competitive, so he decided to end the friendship so they could have another match.

While Lince Dorado is coming down the entrance ramp for this match, Rich Swann sprints past him and starts attacking his former friend. Swann’s attack forces TJP to retreat through the crowd and needless to say, the match never takes place. Result: No Contest

Announcement
Next week, Cedric Alexander will get a chance to get revenge on Gentleman Jack Gallagher when the two go one-on-one.

Neville vs. Ariya Daivari (w/Enzo Amore)
This is the first match for the King of the Cruiserweights since losing his Cruiserweight Championship to Enzo Amore and he is back to having that entranced rage about him. Before the match begins, Neville cuts a promo addressing his attack on Enzo Amore last night. Neville says that he knew exactly what he was doing, implying that he would rather attack Amore than hold the Cruiserweight Championship. Moreso, he wants to do it over and over again.

Neville ducks the Hammerlock Lariat and quickly locks in the Rings of Saturn submission, forcing Daivari to tap out. Right after Neville wins the match, Amore enters the ring and assaults him with his metal crutch. Winner (via submission): Neville
