Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay got the real Hollywood treatment as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, ABC’s late night talk show. McVay and Kimmel discussed a host of topics, but the most important for NFL fans, Rams fans and fantasy football fans is the health of the league’s best running back, Todd Gurley.

“He (Gurley) is good,” McVay told Kimmel. “I think he’s feeling great. One of the things about Todd is he’s a great competitor. I think he’s earned the right to be able have the (training and recovery) plan we’ve had this offseason. I can’t wait to get him back going. I know he’s ready to go. It’s going to be fun for the Rams this year.”

McVay is the youngest head coach in NFL history to go to a Super Bowl and though the results weren’t what he, and arguably most of the American NFL-loving public, wanted in Super Bowl LIII, he still has good feelings about the experience.

“It’s one of those things that didn’t end the way you wanted it to, clearly,” McVay said. “But you can’t help be appreciative of it. It’s the best season I’ve ever been a part of. I couldn’t be more thankful… but it certainly gives you a motivation  and a drive to do better if you get there again.”

Kimmel did ask him how often he thinks about the game.

“Every minute,” McVay said. “It’s something, you can’t allow it to hijack your ability to move forward. …everywhere I go, I see Patriots fans. …I like Tom Brady, but not that much when I’m playing in the Super Bowl.”

Los Angeles opens its regular season schedule at the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 8. They return home to the L.A. Coliseum to face off against the New Orleans Saints in what should be one of the best rivalry games of the early season.
