Baseball Picks: Toronto Blue Jays at Milwaukee Brewers on Tuesday on MLB Network

Baseball Betting:  The Milwaukee Brewers host the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday in a game that can be seen on MLB Network.  The Milwaukee Brewers have been holding on to the lead in the National League Central for most of the season but they have no margin for error with the Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals right behind them.  On the other side, the Blue Jays have struggled of late and they are now trailing in the AL Wild Card race.  Here is a look at Tuesday’s game and baseball picks.

Blue Jays Pitching Continues to Struggle

Toronto does not have the look of a team that is going to make the playoffs. They rank 24th in team ERA and teams that don’t have good pitching usually don’t make the playoffs.  The Blue Jays have the 5th best offense but it is hard to win high scoring games on a regular basis. It should be J.A. Happ getting the start on Tuesday and he has been okay this season. He is 8-7 on the season with a 4.20 ERA.  He did suffer the loss in his last start against the Mariners.

Brewers 34-28 at Home

The Brewers have a winning record at home this season at 34-28. The team is trying to hang on to the NL Central lead. They are in the top ten in runs scored at just over four runs per game. Their pitching though is just average as they allow 3.66 runs per game.  It is unclear who is going to get the start for this game on Tuesday. It would be the spot in the rotation for Kyle Lohse but the team may skip him in this spot to give his sore ankle a little bit of extra rest.

Series Notes

The Brewers have won seven of the last 10 in this series with two of the last three going over.  The teams met early last month in Toronto with the Blue Jays winning two of three. The teams have only played two series previously in Milwaukee with the Brewers winning five of the six games with five of those games going over.

Baseball Picks

We’ll look for both teams to score some runs on Tuesday and for this game to go over the total.
