Best Teaser Pick for Week 9 – NFL Betting Odds

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Every single week there are at least a couple of lines that stand out as being very questionable at best. Sports betting fans can capitalize on those lines by making them even more favorable in teaser bets. We took the time to build up the best four-team, seven-point teaser bet for this week’s games. Here is a look at the best teaser pick for Week 9 of the NFL season.

Oakland Raiders at San Francisco 49ers

Line: San Francisco -3.5

The Raiders and 49ers own two of the worst against the spread records in the NFL this season. Oakland is 2-5 ATS while San Francisco is a league-worst 2-6 ATS. The Raiders have looked awful at times this year but it’s hard to justify them being a four-point underdog against a 49ers side that has been just as bad. Derek Carr and company gave the Colts all that they could handle before falling short late in a 42-28 loss. They should be able to put up decent numbers while keeping C.J. Beathard in check this week. He has been a turnover machine with seven interceptions and three fumbles in just six games.

Adding the seven-point tease to the line moves Oakland from +3.5 to +10.5 in a game that they could very well win straight up. The Raiders should be a lock to cover that double-digit number.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings

Line: Minnesota -5

The Lions have struggled with consistency over the last two seasons. However, the one area where they have been consistently good is against divisional opponents. Detroit is 6-1 straight up and 5-1-1 ATS in its last seven games against NFC North opponents dating back to the start of last season. The Vikings are a tough opponent but they are coming off an ugly loss to the Saints and they did lose to the Lions at home last season. At the very least, sports bettors can take advantage of the 5.5-point line by applying the seven-point tease to move Detroit to +12. The Lions might not win outright, but they should be able to cover.

New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

Line: Miami -3

Miami is coming off back-to-back losses and has lost four of its last five games overall. With Ryan Tannehill dealing with a nagging injury and Brock Osweiler struggling, there is a good chance the Dolphins struggle again at home this week. The Jets are just 3-5 on the year, but they do have wins over the Lions, Broncos and Colts on their record. New York lost by eight at home the first time these teams met but that was when Tannehill was healthy for Miami. Applying the seven-point tease moves the Jets from +3 to +10 on the road. New York should be able to cover as a double-digit underdog on this ticket.

Green Bay Packers at New England Patriots

Line: New England -6.5

Two of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game will take the field in primetime when Aaron Rodgers and the Packers visit Tom Brady and the Patriots on Sunday Night Football. New England has strung together four straight wins, including an impressive 43-40 victory over the Chiefs. That said, their last two wins over Kansas and Chicago have come by a combined average of just five points. Meanwhile, Green Bay is coming off a close loss to the Rams and if they can build on that performance they should be able to give the Patriots a run for their money. Applying the tease to the Packers moves them from +6.5 to +13.5 points. Rodgers and company should be able to cover that substantial point spread as the final play on this four-team, seven-point teaser ticket.
