Brooklyn Nets at Indiana Pacers Betting Prediction

In the Nets’ last outing, they beat the New York Knicks, 107-105, but they failed to cover as 6-point favorites. The total points for the game (212) finished just under the projected point total of 213. The Nets had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (33.3 vs. 21.8) and had a better free throw rate (0.280 vs. 0.186). With 28 points on 8-for-13 shooting, Caris LeVert was Brooklyn’s leading scorer.

The Pacers fell to the Milwaukee Bucks in their last game, 118-101. They were not able to cover as 7.5-point underdogs. The game’s combined points (219) were over the projected point total of 204.5. Milwaukee’s offensive rebounding percentage was their largest strength over Indiana. The Bucks had a rate of 25.6, while the Pacers posted a mark of 18.8. Indiana’s Victor Oladipo had a solid performance, leading the team in scoring with 25 points on 10-for-23 shooting.

Brooklyn could have a tough time creating turnovers. Dating back to last season, Indiana ranks ninth in the league at avoiding errors (turnover percentage of 13.2 percent), while Brooklyn has forced the fewest turnovers (11.8 percent). It will also be a showdown of opposite styles as the fast-paced Nets rank fifth in possessions per game, while the more methodical Pacers rank 27th.

The Nets are 29-55 straight up (SU) and 41-40-2 against the spread (ATS) since last season. Vegas has been fairly accurate when predicting totals of Brooklyn games since last season with 41 overs compared to 41 unders.

The Pacers, on the other hand, have records of 49-35 SU and 42-43-2 ATS since last season. Vegas has been fairly accurate when setting the O/U total of Indiana games over that same period with 43 overs compared to 43 unders.

The Pacers won all four matchups against the Nets last season. In the last matchup, Indiana won 108-103. The Pacers had a better turnover percentage (7.3 vs. 12.1) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (30.0 vs. 19.6).
