In the Raptors’ last game, they topped the Boston Celtics, 113-101, but they failed to cover as 12.5-point favorites. The game’s combined points (214) came in just under the O/U total of 215.5. The Raptors had a better free throw rate (0.152 vs. 0.071) and had a better effective field goal percentage (0.538 vs. 0.475). Toronto received a boost from Kawhi Leonard, who was the game’s leading scorer with 31 points on 10-for-25 shooting.

The Wizards lost a close one to the Miami Heat in their last outing, 113-112, despite being 6-point favorites. The combined points for the game (225) were over the O/U total of 215. Miami out-rebounded Washington. The Heat had 22 offensive rebounds and 55 total rebounds, while the Wizards had seven and 40, respectively. John Wall had a solid performance for Washington, leading the team in scoring with 26 points on 9-for-16 shooting.

The high-octane offense of Toronto will square off against the mid-tier defense of Washington. Since last season, the Raptors rank third in offensive efficiency, while the Wizards are 15th in defensive efficiency. The Raptors figure to have the advantage on that end of the court.

Since last season, the Raptors have had records of 61-23 straight up (SU) and 48-43-2 against the spread (ATS). Just over half of Toronto games have finished over the projected point total since last season.

The Wizards, on the other hand, are 43-40 SU and 47-48-1 ATS since last season. Vegas has had a tendency to place the total low when Washington has been involved over that same stretch as 60.4 percent of their games have finished over the projected point total.

The Raptors won six out of 10 matchups against the Wizards last season. In the most recent contest, Toronto won 102-92. The Raptors had a much better turnover percentage (5.7 vs. 13.7) and had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (34.0 vs. 26.2).
