CFL Playoff Picks: Montreal at Hamilton and Edmonton at Calgary on Sunday

Jon Cornish and the Calgary Stampeders will look for a spot in the CFL Championship with a win Sunday.

CFL Playoff Picks: It is down to the final four in the CFL Playoffs on Sunday as the Montreal Alouettes will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East Final while the Edmonton Eskimos are at the Calgary Stampeders. Let’s take a look at both games, the odds, some of the trends and CFL picks.

–Sunday, November 23 lineup–

Montreal at Hamilton (Tiger-Cats -3.5, total 47.5)

The Alouettes played about as well as they can last week as they routed B.C. 50-17 to reach the East Final. They now have to go on the road to face a rested Hamilton team. There are some good trends to support Montreal as they are 5-1 ATS in their last six division finals games. They are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games in November and they are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 vs. the East. And the Tiger-Cats are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven playoff games and they are 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games.

Playing the under could be the way to go in this one as the Under is 14-3 in the Alouettes last 17 road games. The Under is 4-1 in the Alouettes last five playoff road games. The Under is 20-6 in the Alouettes last 26 vs. the East. The Under is 17-4 in the Tiger-Cats last 21 home games. And the Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings in this series. CFL Picks: We’ll look for Montreal and Hamilton to go under the total.

Edmonton at Calgary (Stampeders -7, total 48.5)

The Eskimos won 18-10 at home last week against Saskatchewan but they probably won only because the Roughriders didn’t have Darian Durant at quarterback. The Eskimos will have to play a lot better to have any chance of winning at Calgary. The Eskimos do have some trends in their favor as they are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games overall. They are 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games and they are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 playoff games.

The Stampeders are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall but they are just 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight playoff games and they are 0-6-2 ATS in their last eight playoff home games. Looking at the total, the Under is 5-0 in the Eskimos last five games overall. The Under is 13-3 in the Eskimos last 16 vs. the West. The Over is 4-1 in the Stampeders last five playoff games. In this series, the Under is 4-1 in the last five meetings.

CFL Picks

Even though Edmonton does have some trends in their favor they are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings against Calgary. We’ll lay the points and take the Stampeders in this one.
