CFL Predictions: Week 8 includes British Columbia Lions at Toronto Argonauts

CFL Betting:  The Toronto Argonauts host the British Columbia Lions in Week 8 action in the Canadian Football League.  It is a matchup between a first place team and a last place team but strangely enough, the last place team has the better record.  The Argonauts lead a weak East Division with a 2-4 record while the Lions are at 4-3 overall but in last place in the tough West Division.  Let’s look at the action for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Week 8 and CFL predictions.

Friday, August 15th

Edmonton Eskimos at Ottawa RedBlacks

These two teams met last month in Edmonton and it was the Eskimos winning 27-11 at home.  They easily covered the 5-point CFL betting odds and the game went under the total.  This could be at letdown spot for the Eskimos at home so we’ll take the big points with the RedBlacks.

Saturday, August 16th

Calgary Stampeders at Hamilton Tiger-Cats

The road team should be favored in this one as the Stampeders are 5-1 and looking like the best team in the league while the Tiger-Cats are struggling at 1-5.  Calgary has owned this series, winning 9 of the last 10 meetings with four of the last five going under.  We’ll follow the trends in this one and take the Stampeders and the game under in CFL predictions.

Montreal Alouettes at Saskatchewan Roughriders

The Alouettes are a mess, having lost four straight and it doesn’t get any easier this week with a road game at Saskatchewan.  The one positive for the Alouettes is that they have won seven of the last 10 in this series.  Four of the last five have gone under.  We’ll lay the points and take the home team in this game.

Sunday, August 17th

British Columbia Lions at Toronto Argonauts

The Lions have won eight of the last 10 in this series and they are 6-4 ATS. Four of the last six have gone under the total.  British Columbia has also won seven of the last 10 in Toronto with eight of the last 10 going under.  We’ll look for the Lions to get the road win in this game and for the contest to go over the total.
