College Football Betting: 2018 Big Ten Regular Season Win Totals Revealed

Ohio State

Now that the 2018 NFL Draft is in the rear view mirror, the focus shifts to the action on the field in both college and the NFL. College spring games and practices have already gotten underway. More news will trickle down as the weather warms up. As the appetite for football starts to grow, BetDSI Sportsbook has posted the regular season win totals each of the Big Ten teams. Let’s have a closer look.

To no one’s surprise, the Ohio State Buckeyes lead the way with a win total of 10.5. Big things are always expected out of Urban Meyer’s squad and 2018 won’t be an exception. Last year’s team had it’s challenges, so it will be interesting to see how the new quarterback and offense functions.

The team with the most pressure to deliver is the Michigan Wolverines. However, their win total is a modest 8.5 games. Anything less than nine wins will really turn the heat up on head coach Jim Harbaugh. Although he was deemed to be a savior when he first got to Ann Arbor, the luster has definitely worn off.

The Big Ten team with the most excitement surrounding it is the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who are welcoming a new head coach: Scott Frost. He led Central Florida to a perfect 13-0 season before coming home to Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have some talent, so it will be interesting to see if Frost can get them to six wins. The bar is set low for them at 5.5.

Rutgers and Illinois are both expected to be the doormats again. Rutgers only won four games last season and that’s what their regular season win total sits at once again. They were outscored 116-13 in their final three games to end the season, so that’s an ominous sign. Illinois was even worse, finishing just 2-10. They won their first two games and then lost 10 straight. That’s why their regular season win total is just 3.5 games.
