Donaire vs Bedak Odds – Top Rank Boxing and More This Saturday

Donaire vs Bedak Odds

Donaire vs Bedak Odds – Top Rank Boxing is at the Cebu City Sports Complex in the Philippines this Saturday, April 23rd with a card headlined by WBO Super Bantamweight World Champion Nonito Donaire (36-3), as he defends his title against Hungary’s Zsolt Bedak (25-1).

For Donaire, his last loss came in October of 2014 when he was stopped by Nicholas Walters. that fight seemed to signal his fall from the upper echelon of elite fighters. Back in 2011 ans 2012, Donaire could be found on many of the top 10 pound for pound lists, but now at 33 with a lot of miles on his body, Donaire is considered past his prime. His last three fights in a row have come outside of the United States, where he has fought the majority of his career. Being of Filippino descent, settling in to a few headline fights against B grade opposition may be the way Donaire is looking to go out.

And with all due respect to Bedak, he is firmly a “B” class opponent. Bedak has fought almost his entire career in central Europe against regional competition. His lone career loss came back in May of 2010 in Puerto Rico against Wifredo Vasquez Jr. Coincidentally that is the only fight of his career prior to this that required getting on a plane. If DOnaire can score a big knock out win or at least be impressive, he can extend his career doing main event fights in the homeland.

The card also counts on 20 year old undefeated (13-0) prospect Mark Magsayo, who faces veteran Chris Avalos (26-4) in a Featherweight twelve round bout for a vacant WBO International title. Avalos is coming off a period wher ehe has gone 1-2 in his last three fights, but his losses have come to undefeated Oscar Valdez and to world champion Carl Frampton, and Magsayo has no one of that type of experience on his resume.

A Vacant WBC Continental Americas belt will be on the line between Australia’s undefeated Paul Fleming (25-0) and Miguel Angel Gonzalez (22-7-1). The clash between veteran brawlers Miguel Zamudio and Jason Pagara, is the fourth fight listed at the books for this seven fight card.
