Final NCAA women’s basketball matches will be played in Seattle and Carolina

Next year’s regional rounds of the NCAA Tournament for women’s basketball will feature a two-host structure, with eight teams competing in each of Seattle and Greenville, South Carolina. On March 24 and March 25, two regional semifinal games will be played at each of those locations. On March 26 and March 27, a regional championship will be held at each venue.

There used to be four regional locations for the NCAA Tournament. On March 12, the same day the teams for the men’s tournament are announced, the NCAA Tournament bracket will be made public. The First Four preliminary round women’s matches will be held March 15–16 on the campuses of the top 16-seeded teams. Every location that submits a proposal to host a round-of-64 or round-of-32 game must accept the option of also hosting a First Four game. Beth Goetz, the director of athletics at Ball State, has been named the new NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball chair for the 2022–23 campaign.
