Golf Odds: Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson are co-favorites to win the Turkish Airlines Open which begins on Thursday. It is the final event before the season-ending DP World Championship next week in Dubai. Rory McIlroy has a big lead in the Race to Dubai but there are still three players who have an outside chance to win the title. Those three players are Sergio Garcia, Jamie Donaldson and Marcel Siem and all three are in the field for this week’s event in Turkey. Here is a look at the tournament, some of the favorites and golf predictions.
Top Favorites to Win Turkish Airlines Open
Five players are listed with golf betting odds between 12-1 and 19-1 this week. Sergio Garcia and Henrik Stenson are each listed at 12-1, Martin Kaymer is 14-1, Jamie Donaldson is 18-1 while Victor Dubuisson is 19-1. Of those five players, only Garcia and Donaldson are still alive in The Race to Dubai. A total of 78 players will compete for the title on the Maxx Royal course in Antalya. Last year it was Dubuisson winning this event while Donaldson made a big push in the final round to finish in second place.
Race To Dubai
Rory McIlroy is still in a strong position to win The Race to Dubai. He has a lead of 2.9 million points with two tournaments left. That means only Jamie Donaldson, Sergio Garcia and Marcel Siem can catch him. The winner of this week’s event gets just over 1.6 million points and next week’s event has another 1.6 million or so points so if any of these three players win this week and next week they would surge past McIlroy. It is not likely but it can be done as Billy Horshel proved by winning the last two events of the PGA season to take the FedExCup.
McIlroy is not playing this week and he would still need to finish outside of the top five next week for any of the three players to have a chance. Also at stake this week are the final places in next week’s DP World Tour Championship as only the top 60 players make the field. The Turkish Airlines Open is the last chance for players to make up ground.

We’ll look for Stenson to get the win in this event at golf betting odds of 12-1. Stenson is excited to be playing this premier event. “The Turkish Open has already become one of the biggest and best events on the European Tour,” said Stenson.
