Indiana Hoosiers vs. Maryland Terrapins Betting Prediction

The Hoosiers will be looking for similar success after thoroughly outplaying the Chicago State Cougars in their last contest, 104-55. The Hoosiers had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (41.0 vs. 21.7) and had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.616 vs. 0.358). With 19 points on 7-for-12 shooting, Romeo Langford was the game’s high scorer.

In the Terrapins’ previous matchup, they beat the Delaware Fightin’ Blue Hens, 73-67. One of Maryland’s biggest strengths was getting to the charity stripe. They made 30 trips to the line, while Delaware went just 11 times. Jalen Smith led Maryland in scoring with 19 points on 8-for-15 shooting from the field.

After the Hoosiers won the lone contest against the Terrapins last season, 71-68, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. Indiana had a much better turnover percentage (16.0 vs. 22.1). Maryland, meanwhile, had a much better offensive rebounding percentage (31.4 vs. 12.5).

Both teams have had a couple of players heat up over their last five games. For the Hoosiers it’s been Juwan Morgan (0 points) and Langford (0 points), while Anthony Cowan Jr. (0 points) and Bruno Fernando (0 points) have been stellar for the Terrapins.

This matchup pits one of the nation’s top offenses against one of its elite defenses as Maryland currently ranks 34th in offensive efficiency and Indiana is 29th in defensive efficiency.
