Garcia the Defending Champion

Garcia comes into this event as the defending champion. Sergio is hoping to build upon a very successful 2014 season that saw him contend a number of times and finish the season ranked in the Top 10 in the world. “Obviously I’d love to contend in the Majors again, and I do still think I can win one.” Garcia said, “I played pretty well in The Open last year, and that’s the one I feel I have my best chance of winning – and the one I’d love to win the most. But I’m not greedy, I’d love to win any Major – and hopefully more than one.”

Rose Ready for the Challenge

Rose will be making his sixth appearance in Doha and he comes in confident. “I finished the season playing really well and I want to build on that in Doha. I enjoyed myself at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters a couple of years ago and I’m looking forward to returning. I felt increasingly comfortable on the course and want to really have another go at it this time,”

Golf Picks

I will take Rose at odds of 8-1 and also go with a longshot in Stephen Gallacher. We get Gallacher at odds of 60-1. Gallacher has played well in the Middle East and he could contend this week. “I obviously have a great record in Dubai, having won there twice after finishing runner-up in 2012, so it would be nice to show that form a week earlier at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters,” said Gallacher.
