Course

The Palmer Private at PGA West is the host course for this event. It is a par 72 that measures 6,950 yards. This course was designed by Arnold Palmer and opened in 1986. Also used in the first three rounds are the Nicklaus Private course and La Quinta Country Club. All three courses are very easy as they rank among the easiest par 72 courses on the PGA Tour schedule.

Field

Reed is the player who is playing the best having won in Hawaii earlier this season. He is joined by two-time champ Mickelson and reigning FedExCup champion Horschel, as well as Kuchar, who is ranked 11th in the world. Reed dominated this event a year ago as he shot 27-under par through 54 holes to lead by seven entering the final round. He had to hold on as he struggled with a final round 71.

PGA Picks

I think there is value on Reed as he is looking like a golfer who can win on a regular basis so I will take him at odds of 12-1. I will take one longshot and go with Bill Haas at odds of 25-1. He won this event in 2010 and finished second in 2011.
