Kearse Signs with Lions, Bell Gets Robbed and More

Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

Former New York Jets wide receiver Jermaine Kearse has found a new home. The erstwhile Seattle Seahawks wideout will join up with his former offensive coordinator, Darrell Bevell, after signing a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Detroit Lions. Last year Kearse caught 37 passes for 371 yards and one touchdown.

Bell’s girlfriends steal $520,000 worth of jewelry

It’s not exactly the crime of the century, but the cash value of what was stolen is kind of mind boggling nonetheless. New York Jets running back Le’Veon Bell was robbed of $520,000 worth of jewelry by two women he called his “girlfriends.” Police are investigating.

Staley and 49ers agree to two-year extension

Left tackle Joe Staley isn’t going anywhere. The San Francisco 49ers locked up the 34-year-old offensive lineman with a two-year extension that will keep him on the squad through the 2021 NFL season. Staley received an 82.2 grade from Pro Football Focus last season and was the No. 6 rated tackle.
