La Liga Fantasy: Week 11 Lineup

One day after Atletico Madrid will meet with Real Sociedad, the other two top teams from La Liga will be in action with Real Madrid set to take on Leganes while Barcelona takes on Sevilla. The fact that Real Madrid will not be listed on DraftKings will significantly narrow down our selections when it comes to this weekend’s fantasy tournaments with another four games on the docket for this Sunday’s competitions including Barcelona’s matchup. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Sunday’s DraftKings La Liga fantasy leagues.

GK: Sergio Alvarez, Celta Vigo

Salary: $5,100

Celta Vigo has earned four of a possible six points over its last two games while climbing to 10th in the La Liga standings. Celta Vigo will have an excellent chance to climb even higher if they can take down Valencia on Sunday and Alvarez is worth slotting in at a very reasonable price as our starting goalkeeper.

Celta Vigo isn’t somewhere we normally look for La Liga fantasy because they’re just 10th in the standings. And they’ve allowed 20 goals in just 10 games – the most of anyone in the top 12 spots. However, this is a decent matchup in La Liga fantasy.

D: Samuel Umtiti, Barcelona

Salary: $3,500

Injuries have ravaged the Barcelona back line and that has opened the door for a player like Umtiti to play more minutes. The fact that he is available at just $3.5K makes him an excellent value play for Sunday’s DraftKings competitions.

D: Cabral, Celta Vigo

Salary: $3,300

It only makes sense to double down on Celta Vigo’s back end with Cabral plugged in with Alvarez. Celta Vigo should be able to keep Valencia in check and Cabral could be in line for a clean sheet bonus as an excellent value play for Sunday’s La Liga fantasy competitions. Valencia has had a really tough time scoring goals thsi season as they’ve managed 14 in 10 games. They are 14th in the standings and only two teams above them have scored less than their 14 markers.

M: Ivan Rakitic, Barcelona

Salary: $7,600

Rakitic has consistently been Barcelona’s best midfielder all season and he is still available at under $8K on DraftKings. That is excellent value for player that could contribute multiple points against Sevilla and that makes him an obvious value pick for this weekend. Barcelona is an offensive juggernaut and a great place to look for La Liga fantasy purposes. They have netted 30 goals so far this season, which is the second-most in the Spanish Primera.

M: Pione Sisto, Celta Vigo

Salary: $6,300

Sisto has been a valuable contributor in the Celta Vigo attack as he is their second-best fantasy producer and top producer at the midfield position. At $6.3K, Sisto is a smart play for Sunday’s fantasy competitions.

F: Lionel Messi, Barcelona

Salary: $10,200

After saving big money at the defender and midfield positions with strong value plays we can go all-in with our Barcelona stack up front. Messi has the potential to put up big numbers every time he steps on the pitch and it wouldn’t be a shock if he dominated versus Sevilla on Sunday.

F: Luis Suarez, Barcelona

Salary: $9,200

With Messi and Rakitic locked in, we will go back to Barcelona with another strong attacking pick in Suarez. The fact that he is available for $1K less than Messi makes him a decent value as the final play in our Barcelona stack for this week’s DraftKings competitions.

FLEX: Mario, Villarreal

Salary: $4,500

With just under $5K left over to spend on our final FLEX position it only made sense to slot in the available player with the highest upside out of those that we can still afford. Mario fits that bill as a quality Villarreal defender heading in to a key matchup with Real Betis on Sunday. Villareal is currently sitting in fifth place in the standings with 19 points in 10 games. They are a reasonable play in terms of La Liga fantasy purposes because they have scored 17 goals in 10 games and have been very strong at the back end. Their seven goals allowed are the second-fewest in La Liga to this point in the season.
