Lakers News: Jason Kidd Praises Anthony Davis

The Lakers have made numerous changes this summer as they hired Frank Vogel as a new head coach while former Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks coach Jason Kidd joined as Vogel’s top assistant. Still, the most significant arrival of the offseason was Anthony Davis.

Davis’ arrival has made the Lakers one of the favorites for the title next season, but the team’s first objective is to return to the playoffs. The Western Conference is stronger than ever with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George teaming up for the Los Angeles Clippers while Russell Westbrook moved from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Houston Rockets to join former teammate James Harden.

Davis is entering his 8th season in the NBA, and he has never won a playoff seres in his first seven years with the New Orleans Pelicans. That will probably change with the Lakers in 2019-20, and assistant coach, who is with Team USA in China at the moment, believes Davis will make the Lakers much stronger.

“When you talk about Anthony Davis… he can put the ball on the floor, he can pass,” Kidd told ESPN. “We all know he can shoot the three, he can post up, defensively block shots, rebound. He has the total package and that’s why he’s one of the best players in the world.” “And so for us to be able to have him with LeBron and Kuzma and Rondo and some of these other guys on the team, it just makes it that much easier,” he concluded.
