NFL News: Antonio Brown Loses Second Helmet Grievance and More

There’s a point where Oakland Raiders wide receiver Antonio Brown is just going to have to come to terms with wearing a league-approved helmet. That time might have come Sunday as the independent arbitrator once again denied Brown’s grievance over his lid.

According to reports, no other grievance will be filed. This time A.B. was trying to get a one-year grace period to use his old helmet. The answer was a thorough thumbs down.

Brown has been practicing all this past week with a league-approved helmet and that should, hopefully, be the end of what’s turned into a farce. He did make a solid joke on his Twitter after receiving the news.

Of course, all will be forgiven if Brown catches 100 passes for 1,800 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

Cam Newton out of walking boot

A sigh of relief can be audibly heard across the Carolinas on Sunday as word got out that Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is out of his walking boot.

“So far, so good,” Rivera told reporters. “Every day he (Newton) progresses. Every day it’s been positive. Each day it’s about how he feels when he gets up, and so far it was good this morning and we’ll continue (rehab).”
