Live Blog: The 2016 NFL Draft

Anyone feeling a draft in here?

Who will go first? Will it be Carson Wentz or Jared Goff? It’ll probably be Jared Goff, but we’re all going to watch the 2016 NFL Draft anyway. You might as well watch it with me.

Scroll on down for the live blog. Keep reading for the top part of my final mock draft.

St Louis Rams logo1. Los Angeles RamsCarson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State

This may be wishful thinking at this point. All the pre-draft rumblings seem to have turned to Goff, but I still not only feel it’s the wrong move for the Rams, but the wrong move for Goff. He’ll be better off in Philadelphia and the Rams will be better off with Wentz. The Rams have made a big deal of their restroom-fueled trade negotiations with the Titans. If they use this pick on Goff and he turns into a bust, I hope they all get urinary tract infections.

Philadelphia Eagles logo2. Philadelphia EaglesJared Goff, QB, California

Goff probably wants to go No. 1 and stay in California. I’ve got a bad feeling he’ll regret it if he does.

San Diego Chargers Logo3. San Diego ChargersLaremy Tunsil, OT – Ole Miss

I’ve had Tunsil going to the Chargers since my first mock draft. With each passing month it seemed less likely until the Rams and Eagles almost made it a certainty. Mike McCoy is really going to set up the next Chargers head coach.

Dallas Cowboys Logo4. Dallas CowboysJoey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

People say Jalen Ramsey should go here. I’ve seen Ezekiel Elliott in this spot, but both those ideas seem ridiculous for a Cowboys team with exactly one starting-caliber defensive end on the roster in Week One. Bosa is a Top Five player at a position of desperate need for the Cowboys. Picking anyone else doesn’t make a lot of sense.

Jacksonville Jaguars Logo5. Jacksonville Jaguars Jalen Ramsey, CB/Safety, – Florida State

This should be a boon year for the Jags, who get to snag Ramsey, the best player from their home state, and add in Dante Fowler Jr. after he returns from his preseason knee injury. They’ll basically have two Top-Five first-round picks this year.

Baltimore Ravens Logo6. Baltimore RavensVernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida

Myles Jack’s pre-draft knee injury concerns cost him a spot here and may slide him down for a while. The Ravens need a pass rusher and a corner, so this pick could be Buckner. Or they could trade down and pick Jack in the teams. If they stand pat, I say they go Hargreaves because they’ve been decimated at corner over the last two seasons.

San Fransisco 49ers logo7. San Francisco 49ers Ronnie Stanley, OT – Notre Dame

How much do the 49ers like Paxton Lynch? With Chip Kelly and Trent Baalke together, there’s no telling what will happen. Stanley should be the pick. The 49ers need a new starter on the offensive line and there’s a real thought out there that Stanley may be a better pick than Tunsil. It’s the smart move. So the 49ers probably won’t do it.

The show begins on NFL Network and ESPN at 8 pm. Add my twerps an tweeps to your draft party, casual get-together or lonely vigil on your couch. Yes, I see you Cleveland Browns fans. Onward!
