Manchester United have identified two Borussia Dortmund players as potential signings but face competition from several European clubs, according to TEAMtalk and Sky Germany.
United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs linked with forward Karim Adeyemi, TEAMtalk reports. Adeyemi has stalled on contract talks with Dortmund and his deal runs out next summer, leaving the Bundesliga club open to an exit for around €60 million to €70 million to avoid losing him on a free transfer.
Sky Germany says United are also interested in full back Julian Ryerson as a back-up option to Diogo Dalot. Ryerson, 28, is under contract at Dortmund until 2028 and the club would reportedly require an offer in excess of €30 million to consider a sale; any move would also hinge on Noussair Mazraoui departing Old Trafford.
Separately, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira reports Liverpool remain interested in Inter Milan right back Denzel Dumfries. Dumfries has a €25 million release clause in his Inter contract that will be active from July 1 to July 31, and he has been a key player for Inter in recent seasons, including their run to last season’s Champions League final and this year’s Serie A title.
TEAMtalk reports Xabi Alonso’s expected arrival at Chelsea has altered the club’s goalkeeper plans, with Mike Penders no longer in line to be the No. 1. AC Milan’s Mike Maignan is described as a serious option, while Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen and Sunderland’s Robin Roefs are also on a shortlist that includes Everton’s Jordan Pickford, Atalanta’s Marco Carnesecchi and Porto’s Diogo Costa.
Calciomercato reports AC Milan could move for Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic on a free transfer if Milan qualify for the Champions League. Milan sit third in Serie A with one game remaining; the outlet adds any pursuit could depend on Massimiliano Allegri remaining in charge and notes Vlahovic’s desire to play in the Champions League next season.
ESPN’s resident scout Tor-Kristian Karlsen explains why several elite clubs might target Adeyemi, noting the forward’s appealing attributes and productivity as well as recurring questions about consistency. Karlsen also highlights that Adeyemi has produced his best season at Dortmund and has developed under head coach Niko Kovac.
