MLB Picks: Detroit Tigers Favored vs. Cleveland Indians on Sunday on TBS

MLB Betting:  The Cleveland Indians will look to make up some ground on the Detroit Tigers when the two teams play on Sunday in a contest that can be seen on TBS.  Time is running out on the Indians in the AL Central and they really can’t afford many more losses.  The pitching matchup looks even with Trevor Bauer expected to go for the Indians while Justin Verlander gets the ball for Detroit.  Here is a look at the game and MLB picks.

Probable Pitchers – Bauer vs. Verlander

Trevor Bauer pitched pretty well last time out against the Twins but he still got the loss. He went eight innings and allowed four hits and four runs. He hasn’t had much luck this season as his overall record is 5-8.  He has just one win in his last ten starts. His overall ERA for the season is 4.12.

Justin Verlander has somehow won three of his last four starts. His ERA is nearly five on the season and his overall record is 13-12 but he has kept the Tigers in games lately. He gave up four runs last time out but got the win over the Royals. In his last three starts, Verlander is 2-1 with a 4.79 ERA. He is 18-16 in the past ten seasons against Cleveland with a 4.42 ERA.

Favorable Remaining Schedule for Cleveland

The Indians have work to do in the AL Central but their schedule definitely gives them a shot.  After Sunday’s game they just four with Houston, three with Minnesota, three with Kansas City plus the finish of a suspended game that they should win and then three with Tampa.  Cleveland could make up a lot of ground in the last two weeks.

Series Notes

The Tigers had won six of the last ten in this series before it began with five of the last seven going under. They did lose three of four at home though against the Indians back in July.

MLB Picks

This is a decent spot for the road underdog as Verlander still isn’t pitching that well.  We’ll take a shot with the nice price and go with the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.
