MLB Picks:  The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the surprise teams in Major League Baseball so far as the upstart leaders of the National League Central and as one of the most profitable and best bets on the board.  The St. Louis Cardinals are the traditional power of the National League Central but have struggled to maintain consistency both on the diamond and at the betting window this year.  Milwaukee will host St. Louis on Sunday afternoon with coverage on TBS starting at 2:10 PM ET.  The scheduled probable starters were Carlos Martinez for the Cards and Wily Peralta for the Brewers.

In the Red Birds

St. Louis was 23-23 on the road and -319 betting units on the season.  They were an even worse -663 betting units on the run line.  Hitting was the issue for St. Louis as they ranked an abysmal 29th in MLB for run production, 24th for OPS, and 29th for home runs.  Martinez was 2-3 with a 3.91 ERA.  St. Louis went over the total in just 15 out of 46 away games.  Pitching is what kept the Cards in the race as they ranked 6th for staff earned run average.

True Brew

The Brewers were 24-20 at home and were +972 betting units on the season although a subpar -95 units on the run line.  The Crew went over the total in just 20 out of 44 home games.  Milwaukee ranked 6th for run production, 8th for home runs, and 12th for ERA.  Peralta was 9-5 with a 3.35 ERA.

The Pick

The Cards and Brewers went under the total in all 3 games of their initial meeting at Milwaukee this year and under the total is the call for this one!
