MLB Picks: Yankees host Orioles in Jeter’s last home game

The Baltimore Orioles visit the New York Yankees on Thursday night in the last home game of Derek Jeter’s career. Let’s look at the game and MLB betting.

MLB Picks: Derek Jeter will play his last game at Yankee Stadium on Thursday night as the New York Yankees host the Baltimore Orioles on MLB Network. The hype will be overwhelming with Jeter playing his last game in front of the New York fans and it would be fitting if the Yankees won this contest. It may not easy though as the Orioles have the far superior offense and it could be that they have the pitching edge in this game. Let’s look at the matchup and MLB predictions.

Probable Pitchers

The Orioles should be going with Chris Tillman on Thursday. He has been very good this season with a record of 13-5 and an ERA of 3.26. You pretty much know what you are going to get with Tillman as he goes six or seven innings per start and allows a couple of runs.

The Yankees are expected to go with Hiroki Kuroda on Thursday. He comes into this game at 11-9 with a 3.77 ERA. There is a chance that this will be the last start in the career of Kuroda as there are rumors he is going to retire. Kuroda is coming off a good outing against Toronto to win his 11th game of the season. Kuroda is 1-1 in his last three starts with a 3.71 ERA. He is 3-3 in his career against the Orioles with a 2.88 ERA.

Series Notes

It has been all Orioles this season in this series as they had taken 8 of the last 10 before this series started. The teams met in Baltimore just over a week ago and the Orioles won three of four with all four games going under the total. The Orioles had also won six of the last ten in New York with two of the last three going under.

MLB Predictions

Is there any other choice other than to go with the Yankees in the finale for Derek Jeter at Yankee Stadium? It also doesn’t hurt that it might be the final game of the career for Kuroda. We’ll look for New York to win this game on Thursday.
