NCAAF Picks: Arkansas takes on Aggies in Jerry’s World

NCAAF Picks: The Arkansas Razorbacks have shown marked improvement in year two of head coach Brett Bielema’s regime as the Hogs are responding to his old school ways with one of the top rushing attacks in the nation. The Texas A&M Aggies have reloaded without departed QB Johnny Manziel and are looking far more powerful than what was anticipated as a rebuilding year was expected. The Texas A&M Aggies will face the Arkansas Razorbacks at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys, on Saturday with kickoff time set for 3:30 PM ET. BetDSI has the latest NCAAF lines.

Hogging Up

Arkansas is 3-1 straight up and against the spread with a 4-0 mark over the total. The Razorbacks are coming off a 52-14 home payout against a good Northern Illinois team. Arkansas ranks eighth in the nation for rushing yardage and third for scoring offense. RB Alex Collins has taking a strong liking to Bielema’s ground oriented attack with 8.2 yards per carry while Jonathan Williams is averaging 9.8 yards per rush. The strong ground attack is keeping defenses honest as QB Brandon Allen is taking full advantage with a 157.2 QB rating and 6/1 TD/INT ratio. The defense ranks in the middle of the pack nationally.

Aggie Yell!

Texas A&M is 4-0 SU, 3-1 ATS, and 2-2 on totals. The Aggies are coming off a 58-6 thumping of SMU as 33.5 road chalks. Texas A&M ranks second in the nation for both scoring offense and total offense. Kenny Hill has more than filled the shoes of Manziel with a 178.8 QB rating and 11/0 TD/INT ratio. The defense ranks eighth for points allowed.

Matchup

Arkansas has shown a lot of improvement including as a road team with three payouts in their last four away games as 11 out of their last 13 away games have gone over the total. Texas A&M on the other hand has paid out in just one out of their last five away games with three out of those five away games going over the total. Arkansas has covered the spread in four out of their last five meetings with Texas A&M as the last three meetings between the Hogs and the Aggies have gone over the total. The Arkansas ground attack may frustrate the Aggies by keeping their offense on the sideline with time consuming drives. We’ll call for Arkansas and over the total.
