NCAAF Picks: Georgia Tech and Georgia Battle on Saturday

Justin Thomas and Georgia Tech are trying to upset state-rival Georgia on Saturday.

NCAAF Picks: The Georgia Bulldogs have had the look of a SEC champion as proven by their 34-7 home payout over Auburn. The Dawgs have also had the look of a bottom feeder as demonstrated with their 38-20 loss to a Florida team that has been down and out for the past two seasons. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are in the ACC Championship Game as champions of the Coastal Division with a devastating option offense attack that is chewing up opposing defenses.

The Georgia Bulldogs will host the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Sanford Stadium on Saturday with coverage on SEC Network starting at noon ET. Georgia opened as a 14-point favorite.

Rambling Wreck Stings Bookies

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are 9-2 straight up, 7-4 against the spread, and 6-5 over the total. Tech is coming off a 28-6 home payout over Clemson that was followed with a bye week. The Jackets rank fourth in the nation for rushing offense. QB Justin Thomas has been outstanding with a team best 827 yards rushing, 5.4 yards per carry, a 161.2 pass rating, and a 15-4 TD-INT ratio.

This has the potential to be one of the greatest seasons in modern GT history if they can upset the hated Bulldogs and then win the ACC Championship next week against top ranked Florida State.

UGA-Ly Losses

Georgia is 9-2 SU, 7-4 ATS, and 9-2 over the total. The Bulldogs rank seventh in the nation for scoring offense and 13th for total defense. Georgia is among the most talented teams in the nation but their inexplicable losses to Florida and South Carolina have left fans and handicappers shaking their heads.

Our Pick

Georgia Tech has picked up the pace as a betting value on the road with four payouts in their last five away matchups. The Yellow Jackets have gone over the total in eight out of their last nine road games.

Georgia on the other hand has slipped as a betting value at home. The Bulldogs have covered the spread in just four out of their last 12 home games with six out of their last eight home games going over the total.

Georgia has had firm control on the cashier’s cage in this head to head series with 10 payouts in their last 13 games against Georgia Tech. Seven out of the last 10 games between the Jackets and Dawgs have gone under the total.   Georgia Tech has been at their best at Georgia however with five payouts in their last eight visits to Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs and Yellow Jackets have gone over the total in two out of their last three meetings at UGA.

We like Tech to give Georgia all that they can handle. Georgia Tech is the call.
