The Houston Astros are set to host the New York Yankees at Minute Maid Park. This AL showdown will begin at 2:10 p.m. ET and ATTSN Southwest is in line to televise the game.

New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros Odds

New York (+115) is coming into this one as the underdog to Houston (-125) and oddsmakers have the Over/Under for this afternoon’s game at 8.5 runs (-120 for the under and +100 for the over). Gamblers can also bet on the game’s runline with the odds standing at Yankees +1.5 runs (-180) and Astros +-1.5 runs (+160).

Predators vs Jets

The Yankees have gone 20-10 SU this year and are 16-13 against the spread (ATS). They’ve accumulated 3.7 units for moneyline gamblers over the early part of the season and 1.6 units ATS. The Astros, on the other hand, are 20-12 SU and 16-15 ATS. They’ve lost 0.8 units for moneyline bettors and 0.9 units ATS.

The Astros are handing the ball to righty Lance McCullers Jr. (4-1, 3.71 ERA), who has 44 strikeouts and 12 walks, as well as a 1.21 WHIP. McCullers Jr. made two starts against the team in 2017, posting a 1-0 record in 2017, compiling a 1-0 record with a 2.38 ERA and 13 strikeouts.

Houston’s pitchers have allowed 2.8 runs per game overall in 2018 as a unit. Its starting pitching staff has a 2.39 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 10.9 strikeouts per nine innings. The bullpen has a 3.19 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 9.9 K/9.

The Houston offense is putting up 4.7 runs per contest, including 4.1 per game over its last 10 games and 4.2 per game over its last five. The team has hit .232/.300/.381 over its last five matchups and is 3-2 SU during that stretch.

Carlos Correa has helped lead the Astros’ offense this season with four home runs, 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored.

In the other dugout, New York’s pitching staff allowed 3.9 runs per game and its starting pitchers own a 3.54 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 8.35 K/9. The bullpen has logged an ERA of 3.15, along with a WHIP of 1.17.

Yankees hitters have slashed .253/.339/.454 on their way to 5.7 runs scored per game in 2018, including 5.9 runs per game over the team’s last 10 games and 4.4 per game over the team’s last five contests (4-1 SU).

New York’s offense has been paced by Didi Gregorius. Gregorius is slashing .330/.419/.717 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs and 26 runs scored. He enjoyed hitting against right-handed pitching on the road last year. Over 215 such plate appearances, he put up a slash line of .350/.377/.596 (his overall season line was .287/.317/.478).

The Yankees are coming off a 4-0 victory in the prior game of this series.
