NFL Week 5 Opening Odds Report

Greg M. Cooper-USA TODAY Sports

It seems like a lot of things got back in order in Week 4. The Buffalo Bills were again terrible and the New England Patriots were again awesome. There’s just one more game left on the schedule for Week 4 when the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Denver Broncos for Monday Night Football, but we’re ready to look ahead to Week 5. Here are the NFL Week 5 Opening Odds.

Indianapolis Colts at New England Patriots

Opening Line: Patriots -10

With the Pats looking great again, they’ve jumped from -8 to -10 for Thursday’s game with the Colts. Indianapolis is coming off a home loss to the Houston Texans.

Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns

Opening Line: Ravens -1

The Ravens have been one of the most impressive teams in the NFL so far this season. They’re coming off a big win at Pittsburgh and now have to visit a Browns team that is 1-2-1, but has had a chance to win every game this season.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Kansas City Chiefs

Opening Line: Chiefs -3

The Jags returned to form in Week 4 with an easy win over the New York Jets. This will be their toughest test to date as they visit the Chiefs in an early battle for AFC positioning.

Tennessee Titans at Buffalo Bills

Opening Line: Titans -3.5

The Bills came crashing back down to Earth in a shutout loss at Green Bay. Quarterback Josh Allen looked terrible and will now have to face another elite defense in Week 5.

New York Giants at Carolina Panthers

Opening Line: Panthers -7

The Giants win at Houston was apparently just a blip. As talented as they are on offense, they have big trouble sustaining drives or scoring consistently. That could be an issue again versus a good defense at Carolina.

Denver Broncos at New York Jets

Opening Line: Jets -1

The Jets opened as a field goal favorite but have slipped to just -1. Their offense – and quarterback Sam Darnold – have completely collapsed since their opening week win at Detroit.

Atlanta Falcons at Pittsburgh Steelers

Opening Line: Steelers -4

The Falcons defense looks terrible. The Steelers can’t seem to get their season on track. The loser of this game likely won’t make the playoffs, so this game has plenty of importance.

Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

Opening Line: Packers -1

The Packers looked great in their win while the Lions failed at Dallas, dropping them to 1-3. This is do-or-die for Detroit but they don’t look like a very good team these days.

Miami Dolphins at Cincinnati Bengals

Opening Line: Bengals -5.5

So the Dolphins are apparently a fraud while the Bengals are in fact one of the best teams in the AFC. There’s little reason to expect a Dolphins upset here.

Oakland Raiders at Los Angeles Chargers

Opening Line: Chargers -6.5

The Raiders finally earned a win but not a very deserved one as an officiating gaffe handed them a second chance. They really should have lost. In this spot, they’ll face a Chargers team that continues to struggle in all facets of the game.

Other NFL Week 5 Opening Odds

Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers

Opening Line: 49ers -4.5

Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles

Opening Line: Eagles -3

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Opening Line: Rams -7

Dallas Cowboys at Houston Texans

Opening Line: Texans -3

Washington Redskins at New Orleans Saints

Opening Line: Saints -7
