Odds Review: Bellator 148 on Friday Night

Odds Review Bellator 148

Odds Review Bellator 148 – The Bellator 148 card comes to us live from the SaveMart Center in Fresno, California this Friday night, January 29th.

The card marks the first Bellator event of the year and, as usual, the man card fights are set to air on Spike TV. The sports books do not pay a lot of attention to Bellator, as these odds have only been up for about 24 hours. The complete live event in Fresno features 11 fights overall, however odds are only available for the main four fights that are set to air on Spike TV.

Check out our latest video blog where we review the current odds for Bellator 148 main event fights set to air on the Spike broadcast.

Odds Review: Bellator 148

Ryan Couture vs Patricky Freire: Patricky is the brother of Patricio Freire, who is Bellator’s Featherweight champion. At one time him and his brother were rated jsut about equal, but Patricky has not been able to establish himself like his brother has and he is in the shadow a little bit. For his part, Ryan Couture is in the shadow of his famous father, but he seems to be growing comfortable under the Bellator flag, having gone 2-0 since joining the group.

Tony Johnson vs Raphael Butler: This one looks to be a slugfest on paper, you can only hope it gets settled quickly and does not slog on into rounds 2 & 3. These are the heavyweights, and Johnson saw his stock go up when he took out former Bellator champion Alexander Volkov in his last outing, while Butler has been with Bellator almost 3 years, compiling a 3-1-1 overall record with the group. Look for both men to be up near the top of the 265 lb limit in the weight class, but do not look for it to be pretty.

Chris Honeycutt vs Paul Bradley: This is a re-schedule, as the two fought in July of last year and that fight ended with a No Contest after a clash of heads cut Bradley. Bradley is the veteran with the 22-6 record, and he has an amateur wrestling background almost on par with Honeycutt, who was finished second in the NCAA Division I championships in 2012.  The first fight was a solid duel where both men had good moments, however Honeycutt is the up and comer in this fight that Belaltor is showcasing here.

Paul Daley vs Andy Uhrich: Daley is the veteran slugger from England that Bellator has spent a lot of time and energy trying to build-up. Unfortunately for Daley, things have not always worked out, as he spent a 2013 and 2014 obtaining a visa to enter the United States. He has gone 2-0 since then, but Bellator’s desire to match him up with champion Douglas Lima did not work out.  Lima has since lost the belt to Andrey Koreshkov, but Daley was matched with former UFC fighter Josh Koschek, whom he lost to back in May of 2010 under the UFC promotional banner. Uhrish is in a position where he has been thrust into a main event and he really does not belong there.  Though anything can happen in MMA, look for Daley to be a strong favorite for this fight.
