The Rangers are 12-12 straight up (SU) and have earned moneyline bettors 3.3 units this season. That early-season winning percentage is a welcomed improvement compared to what the team did during last year’s regular season (34-48). Of its 24 regular season contests, 14 have gone under the total, while 10 have gone over and none have pushed. Thus far, the team’s 9-4 SU at home.

Averaging 30.1 saves per game with a .920 save percentage, Henrik Lundqvist (8-10-2) has been the best goalkeeper for the Rangers this year. If head coach David Quinn decides to give him a rest, however, the Broadway Blueshirts may roll with Alexandar Georgiev (4-3-3 record, .903 save percentage, 3.11 goals against average).

Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad will both be offensive focal points for the Rangers. Kreider (20 points) has tallied 12 goals and eight assists and has recorded multiple points on seven separate occasions this year. Zibanejad has seven goals and 12 assists to his credit and has notched a point in 13 games.

Ottawa has lost 0.6 units for bettors taking the moneyline this year and is currently 9-14 straight up (SU). Through 23 regular season outings, 17 of its games have gone over the total, while four have gone under the total and just two have pushed. Ottawa’s 2-8 SU as a road team this season.

Ottawa has scored on 24.4 percent of its power play chances this year, a mark that’s good enough for eighth-best in the NHL. On the other hand, its penalty kill unit is ranked 31st overall and it’s successfully killed off 68.5 percent of all penalties.

Ottawa’s players have been whistled for penalties 3.8 times per game this season, 3.8 per game over their last five match ups total, and 3.6 per game over their last five road outings. The team has had to kill penalties just 7.4 minutes per game over their last 10 outings.

For the visiting Senators, the offense will be heavily coordinated by Matt Duchene (10 goals, 19 assists) and Thomas Chabot (six goals, 21 assists).
