Patriots News: After First Loss, Bill Belichick Comments on Lamar Jackson and Ravens

Obviously, if you have watched enough football through your years; you should have seen this one coming from a mile away. Furthermore, the New England Patriots lost in Baltimore to the Ravens 37-20 on Sunday Night Football. What this means is every home team won on Sunday.

Equally important, Lamar Jackson is proving he has star power. Indeed, the latest and greatest mobile quarterback gave the 8-0 Patriots fits all night long. First, he had a QB rating of 107.7 and didn’t throw an interception against the heralded Patriots’ defense. Also, he ran it 16 times for 61 yards and two scores; allowing the Ravens to control the clock all night long.

Here’s some of the Jackson highlight reel in case you missed it.

It’s worth mention that Bill Belichick defenses have the reputation that the right mobile quarterback can give them fits. Therefore, when asked about Jackson; Belichick provided his usual small talk.

“He looks good on tape, yeah.”

Beyond his observations on Jackson, Belichick was business as usual. He commented that he’s not worried about the Ravens because for now, the Patriots don’t play them again.

“Right now, they’re not on our schedule, so I’m not worried about them.”

Obviously, the cracks in the foundation have now been shown. The Patriots are beatable, and usually they lose their one or two games before the playoffs that show they are beatable; and then they don’t lose come January.

Still, this is good for the sport. All three of Baltimore, Houston, and Kansas City came up with signature wins on Sunday; and all three of those teams have a shot at knocking off the Patriots in January when it counts. Then, it will likely be to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl.

It’s also worth mention that in second game as a New England Patriot, Mohammed Sanu had 10 catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. While asked about Sanu’s play, Belichick just said that everyone needs to be better.

Finally, this could be one of our only posts on a Belichick postgame press conference. The first reason is the Patriots don’t lose much, and he’s even less entertaining when they win. Aside from that, Belichick isn’t in the business of providing a lot of interesting chatter to begin with.
