Get More Sports Podcast

On Episode 6, we break down the Raptors’ 118-109 Game 1 win against the Warriors in the NBA Finals. Pascal Siakam was the star scoring 32 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists joining Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson as players to have a 30-point, 5-rebound, 5-assist game in their NBA Finals debut. The Raptors capitalized on 17 Golden State turnovers and shot 50.6 percent from the field and 39.4 percent from deep.

Of course, with all of the drama surrounding Drake we had to give you an update after NBA commissioner Adam Silver commented on his over the top antics. Drake showed up to Game 1 wearing former Toronto Raptors player, and father of Steph Curry, Dell Curry’s jersey. We then get into some examples of other NBA superfans and what they’ve gotten away with in the past.

Next we look into Steph Curry’s NBA legacy and why getting a Finals MVP is important. Curry has played well in his four NBA Finals appearances but has never won Finals MVP honors. With Kevin Durant out, the table is set for Curry to capture the award and solidify himself as not just the best shooter of all time, but one of the best players of all time.

Lastly, we shift gears to baseball where the Dodgers stunned the Mets scoring four runs in the bottom of the ninth to cap off an epic comeback with a 9-8 walkoff win.  The Dodgers’ miraculous comeback came against one of the league’s elite closers in Edwin Diaz who coming into the night, had a 1.64 ERA with 35 strikeouts in only 25 innings pitched. The Mets’ starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard wasn’t impressed however, even suggesting the Dodgers were stealings signs.  We explain why the Dodgers don’t need to cheat to beat the Mets or Noah Syndergaard.

We get into all this and more in the latest episode of the Get More Sports Podcast.
