Red Sox trade Christian Vázquez and acquire Tommy Pham

As word of his trade to the Astros, the Red Sox’s opponents the following three days, broke, Christian Vázquez was taking batting practice for the team. As Tuesday’s 6 p.m. Trade Deadline drew near, the deal looked to be evidence that the Red Sox had somewhat transformed into sellers. Bloom requested, however, that the team’s whole volume of transactions be evaluated after the Deadline.

We’re attempting to assist the club, Bloom remarked. “While trying to do the right thing for the organisation, we still want to make the postseason. As a result, the puzzle is now unfinished. We are only one part of deciding to make a transaction, so obviously I don’t have a crystal ball on everything that will occur during the following 20 hours. Other teams must be motivated to do that as well. Our goal is to position ourselves so that we can advance to the playoffs.” Vázquez was a key member of the Red Sox and a team captain.
