Smith Wants to Come Back, Thomas Looking for $22M and More

Alex Smith isn’t ready to hang up his spurs just yet. The Washington Redskins quarterback, who suffered a devastating broken leg last season, has been working out all offseason and has even thrown with his team. The next step in his recovery, learning how to run again. Smith has had multiple surgeries to repair the compound fracture in his right leg and will be wearing an external fixator for at least another month.

Michael Thomas wants $22 million a season

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is in the final season of his rookie contract and is, understandably, in line for a new deal. He and the Saints have already started negotiations. Reportedly, Thomas is looking to average $22 million a season, which would make him the highest paid wideout in the NFL.

Quinn taking over slot spot for Skins

The Washington Redskins have zeroed on their new slot wide receiver, Trey Quinn. According to head coach Jay Gruden, Quinn has taken over that role with the team. Quinn was a seventh-round pick out of SMU in 2018. Last year he caught nine passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.
