Stanley Cup Finals Odds: The New York Rangers play Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals on the road on Wednesday as they visit the Western Conference champions. The Los Angeles Kings and Chicago Blackhawks both had higher point totals this season than the New York Rangers so the Western Conference champion will have the home ice edge. Here is a look at the full schedule with a focus on the New York Rangers.

The New York Rangers have split their last ten games against the Los Angeles Kings and they have won six of their last ten against the Chicago Blackhawks. The New York Rangers have the edge in rest against both teams as the Western Conference final wasn’t decided until Game 7 on Sunday night.

New York Rangers a Live Underdog

The New York Rangers may be slight underdogs but if they win one of the first two on the road against a weary Western Conference champion they would suddenly be favored in Stanley Cup Finals odds. The New York Rangers have a great goaltender in Henrik Lundqvist who is playing better than anyone in the league right now. And the extra rest should help the New York Rangers. “It’s going to be good for us to get a couple of days to recharge,” Lundqvist said, “I think, mentally, too, to let it sink in a little bit and enjoy it for a day or two. Then you start preparing for the next challenge.” Lundqvist doesn’t want the team to let this opportunity slip past his team. “It’s about, for us, in the room to remind each other that this is such a special moment that you have to grab it,” Lundqvist said. “You have to make sure you’re ready and play your absolute best. You’re not going to get that many opportunities. I’ve been here for nine years. This is my first Final, and now it’s all about preparing the right way and trying to leave it all out there.”
