English Premier League Daily Fantasy Picks: Harper Looks To Lock It Down For Hull

Steve Harper should have a good shot at a clean sheet versus Hull.

While Chelsea may have already locked up the Premier League title with one of the most dominant seasons we have seen in recent memory, there is still a lot to be determined over the final couple of weeks of the season. That is reason for more interest from fantasy managers looking forward to this weekend’s action. Here is look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s EPL Daily Fantasy Leagues.

GK: Steve Harper, Hull

Salary: $4,800

Only one other goalkeeper has averaged a higher fantasy points per game than Harper this season but considering the matchup, it’s clear that Harper is the best bet on the board for this weekend. Harper is coming off back-to-back clean sheets and if Hull plays at the same level that it did in its shutout win over Liverpool, then there will be every reason to expect another clean sheet win from their goalkeeper this Saturday versus Burnley. Burnley is dead-last in the EPL table and has scored a league-low 26 goals, including just 12 in 17 away games.

D: Ryan Bertand, Southampton

Salary: $4,600

Bertand is a top-three fantasy defender in terms of his average stats heading in to Saturday’s action and a clash with Leicester isn’t any reason to shy away from him. Leicester City is 16th in the table right now. Bertrand is also the best priced player of the three best defenders on the board in terms of fantasy points per game for Saturday, so it definitely makes sense to go with him in this spot.

D: Andrew Robertson, Hull

Salary: $4,500

Sticking with the prediction that Hull should find a way to get the maximum three points in their game versus Burnley, it makes a lot of sense to take Robertson here as a defender that will potentially benefit from a clean sheet bonus. Robertson is a cheap option on a team that has a very favorable matchup, so we save some money that we can use elsewhere by plugging him in to this spot.

M: Christian Eriksen, Tottenham

Salary: $8,000

Eriksen had a pretty quiet last game for Tottenham but that only makes it that much more likely he comes through with a strong performance this week. He’s one of the highest scoring midfielders on the board heading in to a clash with Stoke. It makes sense to go with a higher scoring midfielder in this spot – especially after plugging in two defenders at a discount price.

F: Christian Benteke, Aston Villa

Salary: $9,000

There is every reason to love Benteke in this spot as one of the most expensive forwards available heading in to Villa’s clash with West Ham – especially after he went off for two goals on three shots in his last game. The Hammers have allowed 26 goals in 17 away games this season. Benteke will have every opportunity to add to his 12 goals on the year on Saturday, so it makes sense to build around him at the forward spot.

F: Glenn Murray, Crystal Palace

Salary: $5,000

Spending a little more money on Benteke isn’t a problem at all with a player like Murray available to plug in at just $5,000. While the matchup versus Manchester City isn’t ideal, it is definitely worth the risk as a bargain play. Crystal Palace is at home and considering how inconsistent City has been throughout the year, it’s worth plugging in Murray here.

FLEX: Dame N’Doye, Hull

Salary: $7,200

Murray is a quality value play that still deserves the second ‘F’ spot but with the substantial cash left over, we also get a pretty good player in N’Doye to fill out our salary cap. Hull will have plenty of chances to score some goals against a team buried at the bottom of the table. Burnley has allowed a whopping 53 goals this season, which is third only to Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle United. That means we can feel confident with the N’Doye selection here.
