The Voice — It’s Top 10 Time!

The Voice

This week on The Voice, the contestants sing for a spot in the Top 10.

Blake took his team on a road trip to get in touch with their roots.

Pryor Baird was asked to sing Bob Seger’s Night Moves by the fans. Wow, really? That’s a no-brainer.

Up next is Sharane Calister (Team Adam) and she’s singing Hero by Mariah Carey. She sounds like she’s sick or something is a little wrong with her voice. Maybe it’s me, I don’t know.

On Team Kelly, Kaleb Lee is singing next and he’s singing Travis Tritt’s Trouble.

It’s time for Jackie Foster, who is on Team Alicia, who is singing Love, Reign O’er Me by The Who. She talks about her dad who is a classic rocker and she talks about building it up. I actually think this was her best performance to date.

Jackie Verna is singing Strawberry Wine and it’s perfect for her voice, but I’m not a big fan of this arrangement.

Kyla Jade is up next singing “Sweet, Sweet Baby by Aretha Franklin.” She did a great job and she can obviously sing, but to me, I felt like Jackie Foster did a better job identifying with her song.

Christina Danielle is singing Rhianna’s “Umbrella,” and I love her personality, but she seems a little shaky in this song. Alicia calls her engaging and beautiful. Does anyone talk about the problems in the singing with any contestant?

Brynn Cartelli is 15 years old and is singing “You and I” by Lady Gaga and she says she’s making it swampy. Man, I love her voice. 15, huh? Damn. This is my favorite performance of hers. She looked like a star on the stage tonight.

Rayshun LaMarr is singing “Try a Little Tenderness,” which is an easy song to pull an audience in. Nice job, Rayshun.

Singing “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran, again America is picking perfect song choices. I like this rendition and Britton Buchanan did a great job. He’s a front-runner in this competition and a favorite with the crowd.

So how do I think the contestants did? Here’s my order of best performances (notice that Pryor won’t go anywhere but first place for me):
Pryor Baird (Blake)
Brynn Cartelli (Kelly)
Jackie Foster (Alicia)
Kaleb Lee (Kelly)
Jackie Verna (Adam)
Kyla Jade (Blake)
Rayshun LaMarr (Adam)
Sharane Calister (Adam)
